Eligibility Criteria
Nepal Development Marketplace is open to anyone with a good
innovative idea to share -- non-government organizations (NGOs),
foundations, private sector groups, universities and schools, local
and municipal bodies, community-based organizations (CBOs),
academic institutions, cooperatives and individuals. Proposals will
be screened to ensure that they conform to the following criteria:

- Language

Theme
To be eligible to compete, proposals must reflect the theme of
Delivering Basic Services in Conflict Affected Areas in any of the
following areas:
- Health
- Education
- Water and Sanitation
- Agriculture, Irrigation and Food Security
- Infrastructure (Roads and Transportation)
- Energy
- Financial Services, including Micro Finance
- Small Business and Micro Enterprise Support
- Information and Communication Technologies
Partnerships
Proposals from private businesses and individuals must include
public purpose partner such as an NGO/CBO, development
agency, foundation, university/school, or government. Municipal
and local bodies are eligible to apply in partnership with
one of the organizations mentioned above.
Implementation Time Frame
Proposed activities must be completed within 12 months of receiving initial disbursement from Nepal Development Marketplace.
Results
The output or results outlined in proposals should be measurable and demonstrate a direct impact on service delivery in conflict affected areas. Projects with the sole final output of research, such as
publications, training or conferences/forums with no directly verifiable results will be ineligible.
Maximum Award Size
The maximum award size will be 1.4 million Rupees. Awards to
winners will vary in size according to the needs outlined in their
proposals.
Language
Proposals may be submitted in English or Nepali.
